Backstory
Raised in a matriarchal community of Pleiades (nymphs) and pagan witches residing in the Greek wilderness, where she became a huntress and healer-in-training. Eris grew up watching the stars, dancing in firelight with other young girls and Pleiades, playing the lyre, writing poetry, practising herbology and green magick, as well as hunting for her village and shielding the forest from non-magic mortals. Like many of her fellow huntresses (and devotees of Artemis), she is an illegal animagus - black bear - and a healer.
One of the many teens in her community to be invited to Hogwarts, was permitted by her mentors to temporarily leave her duties and commence her studies.
Friend of cats, wolves, birds and frogs and stags; knew many of the centaurs inhabiting the forest, as well as the few achromantulas and thestrils (who she could see after seeing her younger brother killed in childbirth).
Due to her relatively isolated childhood, Eris has little knowledge about the general wizarding world, and is at times behind in that which is common knowledge to other witches and wizards. She had only heard of You-Know-Who from people she met while traveling and the forest creatures that had become caught up in the war.
Luna Lovegood took Eris under her wing quickly, being one of the only people to relate her eccentric nature and isolation. Eris listens to her ramblings and strange knowledge, and Luna listens to her retellings of epic poetry and stories from her time amongst the nymphs.
