Backstory

House: Ravenclaw

Patronus: Irish Wolfhound

Wand: Apple Wood with a Phoenix Feather core, 10 3/4 inches, supple flexibility.

Luna Ravenclaw comes from a pureblood family, descendants of Rowena Ravenclaw, one of the cofounders of Hogwarts. All of her family comes from Ravenclaw. One of her family members got sorted into Slytherin and, let's just say, it didn't end well. She figured out she was magical when she was rushing down the stairs and tripped. She thought she would fall down the stairs but, instead, found herself levitating. 

At her sorting ceremony, the sorting hat was stuck between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, which was a surprise for Luna and her family when they found out. The sorting hat thought her ambition and personality towards people she doesn't like reflected Slytherin.  Luna being terrified to end up like her cousin, estranged from the family, was prepared to do anything to keep her from being sorted into Slytherin. Thankfully, to her, she was sorted into Ravenclaw due to her creativity and wisdom, which outshown her Slytherin-like personality. 

Luna will protect her dearest friends and family with her life and will always be the person everyone comes to for advice, a shoulder to cry on, or just a genuine friendship. (Kind of a Hufflepuff loyalty when it comes to friends and family.) Luna is very smart and is known to tutor her friends when needed, should they ask. She is mostly a morally good person....unless she wants to get her way, or if she doesn't like you. She has a very manipulative personality that can show itself easily if the circumstances allow it.
