  Erden Priest grows up in between cultures, languages, families, and on the constant look out for a home. He is raised in a small city in Belgium, along the likes of the beautiful sounding Liège, the historical Ghent, and the Dutch student city Leiden - yes, Erden's hometown is a fictional one, and as of yet nameless - and life is good. Both his parents are professors and have magic. Erden is raised in a house where Italian, Dutch and French-Belgian traditions mix into rejuvenating cooking smells in the kitchen, mubles in languages he only speaks half, weekend cycling trips, discussions of literature and longings to be a full part of each of the heritages - and life is good.

   Untill his parents pass away in a mysterious fire at home. While he was out playing, his father and mother and his childhood home, the piano tunes and books on his night stand, a mother's humming and the warm sun spot on the floor of the living room in winter, are all ripped off the face of earth. Black, dirty coal and ashes is all that remains. 

  His grandmother takes him in - all the way to England he flew - and he soon recieves his Hogwarts letter. A fresh start, a new life. At Hogwarts Erden finds a new harbor, a safe haven. Enough educational and social stimuli, a path of development and personal growth. New friends and foe, though the latter not as much (aside from the occasional gnarly ghost and fire crabs of course).

Likes: photography, music, Hogsmeade, butterbeer (<3), studying, comforting and supporting friends, learning.

Wants to become: aspires to be a professor. In the case that this is too high of a bar or if he's had enough of the school after a good 7 years, Erden wants to find a place at the MOM. Perhaps even at the Department of International Magical Co-operation.
