Backstory

As a half-blood, I was raised with knowledge of the existence of magic however in an attempt to perpetuate peace in my parents marriage, magic wasn't a very prominent part of our lives. My father is a muggle, and while he tries to hide it, he is uncomfortable with this ability that my mother and I have (whether this is rooted in fear of the unknown or jealousy, I am not sure). Anyway while I knew very little about hogwarts, I was ecstatic to recieve my letter though a little hesitant at the thought of leaving home. Being the natural learner I was, I henceforth made it my mission to learn all I could a bout the school before attending, as a way to make up for the knowledge omitted in my childhood. It is probably obvious which house the Hat immediately sorted me into, and I have to admit I had my heart set on Ravenclaw right from the moment I learned of the houses. I've thoroughly enjooyed my time at hogwarts, and thankfully haven't had too much trouble about my blood status. I believe my research served me well in that I have enough background knowledge to be presumed pureblood at first sight. However I don't know what I want to do after graduating... I don't dwell on it too much, preferring instead to simply enjoy my time unbothered by adult responsibility, however my subject preferences include astronomy, charms, and potions. I think I would like to investigate the nature of magic further. What makes it appear in some muggles and then not in others? What makes it compatible with the human body? How far can magic be stretched and manipulated? These are the questions which intrigue me most...
