Backstory
Hi, I'm Alex, but everyone calls me AJ. My parents and my big brother are all muggles so it was a big shock when I started showing signs of magic. I thought something terrible was wrong with me. Turns out that there's a whole lot of people just like me here, which is amazing.
I always liked looking at stars when I was younger but I didn't expect to get as heavily invested in my astronomy classes as I have done. They're great. I especially love when I get to do maths as well; that was my favourite subject before I came to Hogwarts.
I'm still not completely sure what it is that puts me in Slytherin, and sometimes I wonder if I should have been in Ravenclaw, but I think it's ok. Here, I will find good friends who will work hard like I do, I'm sure. Besides, a lot of fellow snakes seem to really like Potions, just like me!
