Backstory
Amelia May Sterling was born on August 5, 2009 in Lunenburg, a maritime province in Canada. She was born to Emma Sterling-Grace and Jack Sterling, a muggle social worker and greengrocer respectively. She lived a relatively non-magical life and was educated in her neighbourhood’s Muggle primary school.
Early Life
As with all young sorcerers, Sterling produced multiple bursts of accidental wandless magic. For instance, when she was a toddler, Sterling once made books fly off of her parents’ shelves. You can imagine how shocked her muggle parents were!
Another instance of her accidental magic was when she was a fourth-grader in her muggle school. A classmate of her’s had started harassing her and had made very rude jokes. Annoyed, Sterling unknowingly turned the unlucky girl’s hair an unsightly, neon orange! Her baffled English teacher was unable to comprehend the peculiar scene.
Enrolment in Hogwarts
An explanation to Sterling’s abnormalities was presented when a professor from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry visited the Sterlings’ home. The professor informed Mr and Mrs Sterling about their daughter’s magical blood. They became extremely proud of that fact.
A few days after that revelation, Sterling received invitations to attend Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in America, as well as Beuxbatons Academy of Magic in France.
After careful consideration, Sterling decided to travel to the highlands of Scotland, to attend Hogwarts.
House
Sterling was sorted in the intellectual house of Ravenclaw for her creativity in writing. Despite her wit, however, the Sorting Hat seriously considered putting Sterling into Slytherin for her ambitions nature.
The Ravenclaw is a firm believer that it is a rewarding use of one’s time to ponder about any mystery of life’s, that interests them.
