Parents: Ryan Barnes (Researcher for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures) & Leonore Barnes (dead)

Pet:  Snowy Owl named "Skaði"

Early life

Leonore and Ryan enjoyed life on their farm in the countryside of Scotland, together with their three beloved children. While Ryan could always be found outside in the nature, caring for magical creatures or tending to plants along with little Charlie and Emilia, Leonore has often been gone, working as an auror for the Ministry of Magic. Samuel, on the other hand, enjoyed being inside with his head stuck in books and imagining the wildest stories. Since their mother was gone a lot of the time they cherished every little moment with her even more. 

But those moments came to an end when one faithful day in 1996 Leonore went on a mission and didn`t return. From then on Ryan had to take care of everything by himself including his children and working for the ministry. After several months he gave up hope for his wife to ever come back. Life wasn`t as cheerful anymore, especially for the children who didn`t quite understand what was going on. 

The place they called home for all their lifes was becoming more and more haunted by memories of Leonore. So when they got presented with the chance of moving into Barnes Manor, which they inherited from their grandfather, Ryan didn`t think twice. 

Years later Charlie still enjoyed being outside with her father doing the things they always loved. Samuel started travelling the world trying to stumble upon hints concerning his mothers disappearance while Emilia was determined to follow her mothers steps and become an auror.
