Althaia Baros

Backstory

Althaia Baros is a witch born to two muggle parents in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Her parents were both born in Greece and moved to Edinburgh after their wedding. The two tried hard to have a child and after 5 years, they finally conceived Althaia. The pregnancy was difficult on her mother and the two were worried they might lose their baby, but in November of the following year their miracle was born. Her name, Althaia, means 'honesty'. They chose this name because they never wanted her to be dishonest or keep secrets from them. 

As a toddler, there were some unexplainable events that occurred whenever she was feeling certain emotions at an extreme level. For example, when she was happy there would be flowers that bloomed and any time she was sad, there would be grey clouds that rolled over the sky (often followed by storms or lightning showers). 

When she received her Hogwarts letter, her parents were understandably shocked but also in awe that their girl was a witch! They did everything they could to support her, from buying all her books (and extras), getting her a few nice sets of robes and finding a witch who was two years above Althaia in their area to guide her around Hogwarts.
