Backstory
I'm the daughter of Tom Riddle,my mother obviously didn't think he was the fatherly type so I was put into an orphanage as soon as I was born. She didn't bother to give me a name before putting me at the doorstep,I was named by one of the nuns who cared for me as a baby.
I was adopted fairly soon after by an older middle class couple,Henry and Diane Phillips, all in all they were good parents to me despite how much I scared them.I was different growing up,it's not unheard of for children to engage in ammusing dialogues with innocent animals sometimes. It was however unheard of for a child to find her way into a snake enclosure at the zoo and be found some time later sitting with them hissing and slithering around her calmly, completely unharmed and giggling.
My adoptive parents always took the "if we ignore it, it will go away" approach to similar incidents that would occur as I grew up.Apart from these I had an average existence as a child,I went to an ordinary government school,I had fairly good grades,I was in the school swimming team,I didn't even get into any physical fights despite my temper.
I had always known I was adopted,my parents never hid it from me when I started to ask questions, but they couldn't really give me any answers either. When I started high school I began to put effort into finding out who my biological parents were.I had no illusions about what would happen when I found them,I wasn't going to suddenly have a magical blood bond with them that would make me feel "whole" nor was I going to attempt to make them feel guilt for giving me away to get closure.I didn't have any particular reasons to find them,I simply just wanted to.
I found that my mother had died a few months after I was born in a home invasion.I managed to find names and phone numbers of a few friends of hers after explaining who I was to the neighbor who found her.I had gotten halfway down the list that day when a man on the other end agreed to meet me to tell me more about my mother and possibly get in contact with my father.
I told my parents some lie about meeting with a friend,I wasn't entirely sure why I felt the need to be secretive.I headed out and rode the bus to an old dilapidated apartment building before knocking on a peeling black door with a gold "7" on the front.I was greeted by a tall dark haired man,his hair was greasy and his tie was crooked underneath his vest.He smiled and ushered me into his apartment while offering me something to drink,I declined and took a seat on the sofa in the living room. The coffee table infront of me had pictures spread out of a red haired woman with glowing green eyes smirking at whoever was behind the camera. We looked very similar, except for the nose.
The man sat opposite me and told me the story of my parents, how my father was powerful and had different views of the world which made him stand out to others. My mother believed in his views and supported him.Together they made loyal friends and went against the people who wanted to hurt them and destroy all their hard work.
He told me that was why my mother died, that the people who opposed my father found and killed her to hopefully stop him from getting stronger.I felt some anger but I mostly had more questions, before I could ask them he took a photo from his pocket and handed it to me saying it was of my father. It was a young man in a robe, his hair was a dark brown that matched his eyes,he had a stern face and strong brows.I was about to say I looked nothing like him but then it caught my attention, his nose,it was as if someone had cut it out the photo and stuck it to my face.At the bottom of the photo was written "Tom Marvolo Riddle 1943" with that the man handed me a folder labeled "Family tree" and a folded piece of paper with an address before whispering "He's waiting".
