Backstory
When I received my Hogwarts Letter that faithful day, I was so excited. My mum was a witch and attended Hogwarts when she was a kid. My dad on the other hand was a muggle. He left when I was 8 and moved to America. We had lived in Australia up until then but when my dad left, my mum moved us to England for a 'fresh start'. I've got a younger brother and a younger sister who have both already showed signs of magic. The first time I showed magic was when I was 5 and my brother was annoying me before bed. The next morning, he woke up with red hair! Dad freaked out but luckily Mum put it back to normal. After we moved to England, we lived in a magical village, where most people were witches or wizards or of the sorts. I loved it because I could run around and play with magical toys and other kids who shared my abilities. I was beyond happy when my Hogwarts Letter arrived by owl post. So was Mum! My siblings were just glad that they would be next! About a week after I received my letter, we travelled to Diagon Alley by the Knight Bus. We stayed at the Leaky Cauldron for the week leading up to school. During this time, I got all of my supplies. I got all of the required books and some extra ones for some light reading. I'd already read most of these books at least twice before I got to school. While we were in Diagon Alley, Mum even opened me a vault in Gringotts for when I was older. As a birthday present, Mum bought me a beautiful snowy owl who I named Blizzard. When the day finally came to go to Hogwarts, we travelled to Kings Cross via muggle taxis. When I pushed through the wall to platform 9 and 3/4, I was amazed. Never had I seen so many magical people all in one place. And they were all students going to my school. I said goodbye to Mum and my siblings before setting off to find a carriage. When I finally found a free one, I secured my trunk in the shelves above and Blizzard's cage. After a few minutes a girl with long brown hair and bright green eyes walked inside and asked me if she could sit in here. She introduced herself as Lily Evergreen and we instantly became friends. When we arrived at the school, we were both amazed at the beauty of the grounds and the castle itself. As we waited to be sorted, everyone looked nervous. When it was Lily's turn , she sat down and after 4 seconds she was sorted into Ravenclaw. I watched kid after kid get sorted until there was only and handful of us left. When my name was finally called, I stepped up to the stool and sat down. Professor McGonagall placed the Sorting Hat on my head. After nearly a minute of the hat debating between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, it called out Ravenclaw. Relieved that it was over I went and sat next to Lily for the feast, ready for the rest of the year. And the rest is history.
