Backstory

Name: Jamille 'Jamie' Illen; 
Birth Details: May 10th in Harlem, New York. Half-blood.
House: Ravenclaw
Wand: Blue Atlas Cedar wood with a Hebridean Black dragon heartstring core, 9 ½" and surprisingly swishy flexibility.
Pet: "Charmie"; Alaskan Malamute
Patronus: Newfoundland.

Personality Type: INFP-A.

Current Occupation: Runs a shop selling his magical trinkets named Bella's Baubles. He's also often called on to assist the Department of Magical Law Enforcement to use his skill in questioning suspects. He's been offered a full-time position as an Auror, but refuses because of his love for invention.

Appearance: Not tall, not short, and has an absolutely ordinary build. His hair is curly twists with beads on the ends in the colour of the Ravenclaw house. He sports clothes for the season, but the shop is hexed to be constantly nippy. As such he can often be seen wearing hoodies or sweaters with comfortable jeans & wintry gloves. In the summer & spring months he often wears bland t-shirts & shorts, but always has on a pair of impeccable & extraordinary socks to compliment his general mood for the day. Jamille will also adorn himself with various rings, necklaces, & bracelets to coordinate with whatever outfit he may choose.

Lore: Tavish Illen once went to New York's Pelham Bay Park under orders to assist in a hunt for a dark arts cult hiding within the woods there. During which he met a squib detective who had tracked down the group with surprising accuracy named Goola Devine. When asked why she hadn't called for back up from the MACUSA, she replied "No one trusts a squib's judgement." The pair would go on to clear the lair of Dark Arts users with swiftness which led to Goola showing off her detective inventions that she refashioned from both muggle technology & magical items. Tavish would ask Goola work as an assistant & with some skepticism she agreed. Tavish would continue working in New York, & Goola would work with as a Detective in the NYPD. Soon the pair would fall in love & concieve Jamie Illen in Harlem. Wishing to give him a proper education they decided to allow him to attend school until his powers began to manifest in with after they would move back to Scotland & prepare him for Hogwarts. Goola would now work with Scotland Yard & Tavish would return to the ministry.

Jamie grew up reading mystery books & playing logic games with his mother and father. He also grew up skuling about at night to watch his mother meticulously work on her inventions before being found out & sent to bed. When his time to be sorted into a house came during his first time at Hogwarts the hat had difficulty choosing whether to place him in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, eventually placing him in the former. His excelled in potion creation and arithmancy classes, and during his middle years professors noted that "He had an absurd gift for using legimancy and occlumency in the most creative ways. A natural empath that one." He also was skilled in magical combat, albeit his defensive ingenuity was vastly superior to his offensive, slowly tiring out his opponents until an opening presented itself.

After his graduation, Jamie figured he'd continue his love for invention by starting up his own shop, with doors at various locations leading to his winter wonderland of enchanted toys, trinkets, and jewelry. The ministry of magic called him in as an outside specialist for a sensitive case matter & frequently called upon him after seeing his skills in action. When asked to take on a permanent position he declined in favor of running his shop but offered his services as a freelancer whenever needed.
