Backstory

I always knew I was a witch, from the moment my pureblood parents introduced me to magic. Raised in Canada, I knew my options for a good magical school that could help stimulate my strong academic drive were effectively nonexistent. When I received news from an old friend that they were going to Hogwarts, the best school for witchcraft and wizardry there was, I knew it was the place for me. I ran away, with a foolproof plan to explain to my overprotective parents, and enrolled at Hogwarts. It's been challenging, going against their wishes, but so worth it. At the beginning of my second year, I learned that my parents were actually escaped, presumed dead, convicts of magical law who had fled to Canada when I was seven. It was a shock for me to deal with, but I managed. Now I'm in my third year, handling the secret of my parents' identities, the conflict of my individuality, and the pressure of school. What fun! Aside from that long autobiography, I am in Ravenclaw, I have a pet owl named Hornet who I am 99.9% sure is actually a parrot, long story. My favorite subject is astronomy and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I enjoy swimming in the Great Lake with the mermaids, which my friends find quite suspicious but I have very good cold tolerance and I don't really know how I can hold my breath for that long. I just learned how to conjure a patronus, which is a salamander.
