Backstory

My name is Emma Phommarath. Five years ago, I was sorted into Slytherin and received a warm welcome from my older brother Kai, and his friends who had also been sorted with the same fate the year before. It made me excited and feel like I had joined a community within the walls of Hogwarts. However, that diminished when I remembered how disappointed my parents were when they found out Kai was a Slytherin. No doubt it was the same feeling for me, now. This was due to when they were students themselves, Slytherins had given themselves the nuance of idolizing evil and You-Know-Who. I believe I've been doing a damn good of changing their impressions (even if only a little) thus far, besides my habit of without fail, always being behind on my herbology and history of magic work.

My father is a Ravenclaw and my mother is a Hufflepuff. From this, my parents were always very involved in the wizarding community and focused on prioritizing their children's education in magic. Right from the point where any of us kids showed signs of magic, my father took initiative and started teaching us spells and going through textbooks with us. I have two brothers; Kai, who I mentioned earlier, who is a year older than me, also Slytherin, and the oldest, and Jaxon who's younger than me by two years and has been labeled as a Hufflepuff. Needless to say, they were elated when they heard Jaxon was sorted into a house outside of Slytherin.

I met my best friend, Matthew, in my third year, when I first visited Hogsmeade. He's in Gryffindor but has never seemed to care about my house sorting. He's much taller than me, making his nickname "Big Matthew," so I've started calling him BM. We've spent every summer together outside of Hogwarts. He introduced me to another friend, Mark who was also a Gryffindor. He was awkward at first, but after a whole year of forcing my presence on him, he seemed to loosen up, realizing that I wasn't going to leave his life anytime soon, and recently became accustomed to my overbearing skinship. In my fourth year, someone I had never talked to before, Christopher, an (at the time) fifth-year Ravenclaw, asked me to the Yule Ball. I was surprised, but agreed because he seemed nice (it also helped that he was cute). He later revealed to me that he was Korean and that his Korean name was Chan, so that's what I've been calling him.

In the present time, these are my closest friends, and we are known as "that one friend group with every Hogwarts house," though recently I've been feeling some... different feelings for one of them. Meet me in the library on Saturday (I'm always there studying.. but not herbology), and we can talk more!
