Sophia was born to a pure blood family in U.S.A. Both of her parents were ministry workers at American Ministry Of Magic. One of her grandfathers, joseph Adriana was a squib, so he always tried to trouble Sophia. However, her parents knew that Sophia was a witch and therefore they protected Sophia well.
Her grandfather, Joseph tried to trouble Sophia twice. When those 2 missions failed, he put his effort to the third plan, which can even kill Sophia. Fortunately, as a witch Sophia didn't hurt a bit but his grandfather was killed by an accident while making that plan work.
When this happened, her parents thought that they should reveal Sophia and she is a witch. So, when Sophia was 9 years old, her parents revealed that golden secret.
Afterwards, Sophia waited eagerly for her Hogwarts letter, though she wasn't very sure that she is a witch. However, on her 11th birthday, a snowy owl bring a letter and it was about..................................... HOGWARTS!!!
