BACKSTORY: My mum died when I was very young in a magical accident, so my brother Eli and I were raised by our dad. My dad works at the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes in the Ministry of Magic, aiming to help prevent incidents like the one that resulted in my mum's death. Being a Muggle-born, he wanted us to have the same schooling he did, so we attended a Muggle school until we came of age to start at Hogwarts. I was a Hatstall between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. The Sorting Hat took nearly six minutes to place me in Ravenclaw but advised me not to squander the ambition I had, regardless of my House. I take its suggestion seriously, eagerly learning all that I can about magic so that I can fulfill my dream of joining the Department of Mysteries and discovering what it has to offer.
