Backstory
I have always been fascinated with magic, seeing it both as a mystery that requires imagination to understand and a puzzle that can be systematically unraveled. Bearing that in my mind, I doubted whether my interest and specialty would have any place in the Ministry. In my surprise, I was placed as a member of the Arcane Society under the Department of Mystery. What I have been doing is, of course, mostly secret in details. Yet in general, I could say any magical phenomenon that were, at a certain time, unexplainable, were mostly kept under my archives. You might have guessed that I was a Ravenclaw during my years at Hogwarts. Actually, the Sorting Hat had stalled. It took a long time to decide where I should be sorted. It told me that in order to have such interest like the one I had in my mind, I might already have not only a disciplined logical deduction, but also a certain degree of courage in its audacity, something that a Gryffindor might only have. My reluctance to exhibit myself albeit my willingness to do the necessary works in solving magical problems almost put me in Hufflepuff. I had a thought, quite a foolish wish, that wherever the hat would decide, let it be the one that would surprise a lot of people. The hat immediately shouted "Slytherin" loudly back then. Sure enough, being a Slytherin helped me in chasing my passion without changing what I have been like as a person.
I might be a pureblood, but my family descended from an ancient clan originated beyond the border of the British Isles, even beyond Europe. There has even been a legend among my more orthodox kinsfolk that we were descended from King Gilgamesh himself. Some families among our clans have been keeping a record on our genealogy and how our diaspora had sundered across the world. That was my mother ancestry. As adventurous as she has always been, Mom met Dad when she traveled Himalaya to find an ancient place called Shangri-La. As cringeworthy as it might sound, Mom failed not find the mythical land, but she found a greater form of magic in loving my Dad. Regardless, that was how I got my Asian surname.
Mom and Dad returned to England --with me, obviously-- when there was a news of the downfall of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Of course, we were surprised how the Dark Lord's magic could have backfired when he tried to eliminate that Potter baby, for whatever reasons. At that time, I was also at the eligible age to attend Hogwarts as a first year student. That was the beginning of my most beautiful years of life.
