Madame Eira Fox

Backstory

Eira Fox was an only child to her Muggle father and witch mother. She was born on the 8th of January and her parents decided to name her “Eira” because it meant “snow” and a ravenous snowstorm was brewing that evening. In 1999, Eira got her Hogwarts letter and she was sorted into Gryffindor. When the Quidditch house team tryouts began during her second year, she knew she had to try since she was always interested in the game and she loved to fly. At first, she didn’t know what position to try out for. The day of tryouts finally came and she decided to try out for the Beater position. Eira was definitely nervous when she tried out, but luckily she made it on the team.

For her academics she excelled in Charms and at the same time, Eira also developed an interest in Magical Transportation. She already knew about various types of Muggle transportation such as cars due to her father being a Muggle. But, the more she learned about the magical side of transportation, the more she knew what she wanted to do when she graduated. During her seventh year, she had gotten an internship at the Ministry in the Department of Broom Regulatory Control that essentially started her professional career in the transportation industry. Eira finally graduated from Hogwarts in 2006.

The Ministry offered her a full time job after graduation. Before she started working full time, she wanted to spend time with her family and decided to travel with her mother and grandmother. After she got back from travelling with her family, she started her job at the Ministry. Eira loved her job, she helped the department approve new broom designs and oversee safety regulations. One day at the Ministry, she ran into Serafina Rosenquist, who was just leaving the Department of Magical Games and Sports, and they launched into a discussion over Quidditch broom safety. After several meetings after their initial one, Rosenquist mentioned that Hogwarts had a staff position that was open as a Magical Transportation professor and asked if Eira was interested.

Eira, of course, was caught off guard, since she never thought about going back to Hogwarts. She told Rosenquist to give her some time to think about it and she would let her know. It was a tough decision as she loved her job at the Ministry, but she felt it would be a good change in her life and sent Rosenquist an owl that she was indeed interested. Later on, Headmistress Orion Oshiro arranged a meeting and after a bit of talking, officially offered Eira the job, which she of course accepted. Eira can’t wait to start her new job. A little fun fact about Eira, you might catch her singing to the Muggle boy band the Backstreet Boys while walking through the Hogwarts halls.
