Backstory

I was sorted into Hufflepuff so fast it was comical. It wasn't much of a surprise, considering I value my kindness and loyalty above all my other traits. Sure, I'm brave, I'm smart, I'm ambitious, but not enough to be sorted into any of the other three houses. I come from a muggle household, having been raised by my two moms, Adeline and Vivienne. They themselves don't hold any magic, but I've been told my biological father was a great wizard of his time. I don't know much about him, just that I was born after Adeline had one romantic summer in Greece with the man that is now a mystery to me. I don't really mind though, as far as any of us are aware, he disappeared a few weeks after I was born and left Adeline alone.

Despite the hardships she went through, my mom found Vivienne and has been with her since I was four years old. They are hopelessly in love, so much so that my expectations for romance are higher than Mount Everest. It's nice though. I grew up in a stable household that constantly smells like jasmine and honey with endless amounts of unconditional love. It's been tough staying away from them, but they've always encouraged me to take risks and not let adventures pass me by.

As for my experiences at Hogwarts, It's been pleasant. My classmates are kind and very few of them genuinely care that I have two muggle moms. In fact, many enjoy hearing my childhood stories, especially during late nights in the Hufflepuff common room, when the fire is burning and someone had just brought in fresh baked cookies from the kitchen next door. I usually spend evenings like that with my cat curled up in my lap. Her name is Bear, a brown Maine Coon cat with a love for physical affection. Between me and you, I believe she's a reincarnation of my childhood cat, Smokey, but that's usually something I keep to myself.

I'm still not sure what I want to do once I graduate, but I know I want to return home to my moms, or at least get them to move closer to wherever I settle down. Opening a shop of my own sounds nice, maybe somewhere I can grow magical herbs and bake them into sweet treats. Honestly? I just want a simple life, one where I can wake up and romanticize each day. I want to fall in love and have a presence that makes those around me feel at home. I want to throw annual dinner parties in my forest cottage and have all my friends dress up as their favorite magical creatures. I just want to be happy, truly.

Ever since I learned about my abilities, I knew instantly that i wanted to use them for good. I was practically raised by two hippies, for Pete's sake. But jokes aside, I think my greatest strength is found in my empathy and I want to hold on to that for as long as I possibly can. In today's world, empathy is radical and re-enchantment is resistance.
